Characteristics of measuring instrument

Accuracy
Accuracy is the value that describes how closely the indication of the instrument agrees with the true value of the measured variable.
For example if a pressure of 20 psi was applied to a pressure gauge and the gauge indication was close to 20 psi.

The Precision
The Precision is the value that describes how close the instrument can indicate the same value repeatedly, when the instrument is used to measure the same value of variable several times under identical conditions.

The Sensitivity
The Sensitivity is a measure of how much output change occurs for given input after steady-state has been reached.

The range
Tha range is the set of value of the measured variable that the instrument is capable of measuring.

The rangeability
The Rangeability is the relationship between the range of the instrument and the minimum quantity that can be measured with the instrument.
